This sheet includes markings to complete two B 24J bombers of the Pacific campaign where the B 24 Liberators range and bomb carrying ability put it at a significant advantage over the B 17. 'Lonesome Lady' 44-40680, was among the last B 24J models to be delivered to the 866th Bomb Squadron, eventually completing 46 combat missions.

This sheet includes markings to complete two versions of the same aircraft which flew with two different nose artworks. We have 'Miss Jolly Roger' which was displayed on the left of the nose area and 'Booby Trap' which was applied to the right forward nose area. You will also note the little green skull-and-cross-bones squadron motif by the left foot of the girl. As there is only black and white reference of the nose art on 'Booby Trap' we have included two likely colour options for the background flash.

KW148269 - Consolidated B-24J Liberator
This sheet includes markings to complete a two B 24J Liberators operating in the Pacific theatre. Both Aircraft hale from the 7th Bomb Group, 9th Bomb Squadron. 'Frozen/Hot-to-go' has the original olive drab/mid grey bomber colour scheme used throughout the earlier part of the USAAF campaign. 'Shy Ann' has the later 'camouflage is now unnecessary' natural metal finish where it was deemed at this late stage in the war, it would save weight (and time/money!) not bothering to paint the aircraft, only the front deck ahead of the cockpit and inner upper quadrant of the engine cowls received paint to cut down the glare of the shiny metal surfaces.

KW148268 - Consolidated B-24D Liberator
This sheet includes markings to complete a two B 24D Liberators from the Pacific theatre. 'Hot Stuff' served with the 9th Airforce, 93rd Bomb Group, 330th Bomb Squadron and had it's neat little nose art girl on both sides. We have also included the crew names which are positioned around the aircraft in the relevant positions. Incidentally, ''Hot Stuff' was the first USAAF bomber to complete 25 missions. She was sent home with some of her original crew along with several officers including the original commander of European operations, Lt. General Frank M. Andrews. Tragically this aircraft was lost on it's way home colliding with a mountain in poor visibility killing all on board, this lead to General Eisenhower being given command of European operations and overall command of the D-Day invasion and the B 17 'Memphis Belle' getting the fame and glory for the 25 mission goal. 'Snafu' flew out of Australia, the airstrip located in Munbaloo. She completed 17 missions and sunk a ship before being lost in a take-off incident where she was scrapped and used for spares. Parts of her survive to this day and are under restoration in Australia.

Info Contributor - Gerson Lopes
After return to the United States at Kingman, AZ. When the plane was on the island of Ie Shima (after the war ended), General Kenny, commander of the 5th Air Force, wanted to keep the plane and fly it back to the United States. The plane was equipped with "synthetic" rubber tires, which was a brand new deal back then, and the General wanted "real" rubber tires on the plane when he took it back to the States. So he literally "scoured" the pacific in order to find the real rubber tires, and had them flown in to Ie Shima and fitted onto the plane. After a thorough pre-flight, he took off in the plane for a check-out flight, wherein, all went well, and they were to return to the island and leave the next day. Upon landing, one of the damn rubber tires blew-out and the plane skidded off the runway and crashed!

Doodlebug, Bomb Squadron. Probably the 308th aircraft with the most Hump flights. In addition to the eleven bomb mission symbols and the ten Jap flags (aircraft shot down), 'Doodlebug had 120 snow-capped mountain symbols stenciled on her, representing 120 trips over the HUMP!
The 308th... performed some of the most accurate bombing of the US Army Air Forces and used the first American smart bomb called the Azon. The 308th also sustained the highest casualty rate in the USAAF, for its missions were long and hard, often conducted at very low level and at night through the very heart of Japanese-occupied territory and over their controlled sea lanes.
The 308th flew nearly 600 combat missions under conditions that would have been deemed impossible in Europe. At the end of a 12,000-mile supply line, every ounce of gasoline,
every bomb, every spark plug, had to be dragged over the hazardous, high altitude route across the mountains, along what became known as the Aluminum Trail for the plane
wreckage scattered along the way. There were few radio or navigational aids, and the weather was usually bad. Midway through the war, crew viewed combat missions as less
stressful than the haul over the Hump. It took about four trips hauling supplies to be ready for one bombing mission.
When the Army Air Force Headquarters in Washington tallied the bombing accuracy of every bomb group in combat, I was astonished to find that the 308th led them all.
