P-47D Fran" 44-20249 395th FS, 368 FG

P-47D named "Fran" was flown by Forrest D. "Fuzz" Midlam. Fran was
named for Frances Talley whom he married in 1947.
'Fuzz' Midlam flew 98 combat missions earning the Distinguished Flying
Cross, Bronze Star, Air Medal w/ 15 Oak Leaf Clusters and European
Theater Ribbon with 6 Battle Stars.


Was present at the atomic bomb tests at Ewentok, Marshall Islands.
Flew 101 combat missions in P-51's during the Korean War. Retired
May 1, 1962 as a Colonel.

Kitsworld Water-slide Decals Application Instructions
Kitsworld Water-slide Decals are printed on the highest quality decal paper, made up of a water-soluble adhesive and printed on a light blue backing paper.
How to Apply Water-slide Decals.
1). Cut around the decal.
2). Using tweezers or a paint brush, pick up the decal and put it on the surface of the water - it may curl or sink, but this is normal.
3). Take the decal from the water and place it on a paper towel allowing any excess moisture to drain.
4). If using decal solutions then paint the first decal solution onto the scale model, at the point where you intend to stick the decal.
5). Use a paint brush or tweezers to pick up the decal and place it onto the surface.
6). Once the decal is in position dab a clean paper towel on the decal to soak up any left over water.
7). Leave the decal to dry, once completely dry a thin layer of gloss or matte varnish can be applied.
